Today, on the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), we stand in solidarity with millions of girls and women around the world who have suffered or are at risk of this harmful practice.
FGM is not culture, it is violence. It robs girls of their rights, exposes them to severe health complications, and leaves lifelong emotional and physical scars. The practice has no medical benefits and is a violation of human rights.
